Legend has it that Safety Harbor was so named because pirates notoriously populated the area around Florida in the 18th century. Once the land was in sight, you were said to be in 'safe harbor.' Marbay Suites has been a haven for travelers to Safety Harbor since 1942 - that's a fact, not a myth!
