Safety Harbor Downtown
Situated 3 miles away, is the Safety Harbor Downtown Main Street. It is one of the hidden gems of Pinellas county. Nestled on the northeast corner of the peninsula, it features a quaint and compact downtown area with beautiful old oak trees providing plenty of shade and brick streets, has a quaint historical look with a village feel to it. On Main Street, shoppers can purchase everything from antiques to fine art. If you like good simple food like Sandwich shops, Pizzeria, BBQ, southern cuisine, seafood to fine dining form Bistro to French cuisine Safety Harbor is the place. If you like to be pampered there is a number of professional hair salons, Nail Salon, skincare and you can get a massage.
Philippe Park
At a distance of 1.3 miles, Philippe Park is a Pinellas County Park in located Safety Harbor. Philippe Park was acquired in 1948, making it the oldest park in the county. This historically rich park bears the name of Count Odet Philippe who introduced citrus culture to Florida. The existing park property was part of the original Philippe plantation from which several citrus trees still remain. An Indian mound listed in the National Register of Historic Landmarks as the Safety Harbor Site is also located within the park. Artifacts found in this mound are on display at the nearby Safety Harbor Museum. Philippe Park is 122-acre park that is shaded by large oaks and other hardwood trees. The park offers picnicking, a view of Old Tampa Bay along 1 mile of shoreline, a boat launching facility, fishing, and play areas.
Safety Harbor Marina
At a distance of 2.6 miles, the Safety Harbor Marina & Pier is a clean modern facility. Access to the pier is FREE. This is a favorite destination for residents and visitors alike. Parking is plentiful and the city's downtown shopping district is within easy walking distance. Manatees and dolphins are frequently visible from the pier.
Philippe Park Boat Ramp
Enjoy calm and peaceful boating from the boat dock at Philippe Park. It's easy and convenient to use. They have parking available for all sorts of vehicles including trailers, with daily, half-yearly and yearly passes at an affordable price. The marine life of Safety Harbor can be accessed and explored at your own pace from here.
